Truth- Part 3

Commit to Memory: “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:5 NIV).

Truth is eternal and unchanging. What God sees and regards as truth is true, because he sees things as they are. In Jeremiah 1:5 He said to Jeremiah that before he was conceived in his mother’s womb, he already knew and had appointed him to be a prophet to the nations. So what God regards as truth is truth; what He proclaims to be right is right. It is then His truth, as He adopts it for the rule of His own conduct, and makes it known to His creatures to guide them.

Friends, the word of God says we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth. Never contradict the scriptures as any time you contradict the word of God, you have turned from the truth to a lie (2 Timothy 2:18). Why? Satan is the father of lies, and he doesn’t want men to have access to truth. He rules over his kingdom with deception, perversion and lies. His kingdom is based in lies, and men are manipulated by lies to follow him (John 8:44; Eph 2:1-3; II Thess 2:9-12). Solomon said in Proverbs 23:23 that:

“Buy the truth, and sell it not”

Why? Truth is a valuable asset to be obtained. But then in order to buy the truth, we must be willing to exchange or give up valuable things for it. In order not to sell the truth, we must be ready to reject whatever price tag offered to take it from us. We must refuse compromise at all levels. So then the question that comes to mind is how do you and I buy the truth? You can buy the truth with time and separation. How? Give God quality time and attention in the secret place. Give heed to divine instructions and meditation of the word. Do not sell the truth for comfort, peace, friends, worldly possessions, power, fame or favors. I pray may the truth that is in Jesus find expression in your life today in Jesus name.

Reflection: When you give God quality time and attention in the secret place, you will have an encounter with the truth…

Prayer Lines: Father, guide me in thy truth that I’ll be ever chasing after You.
