Looking unto Jesus In your fears

“They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.”—Psalm 34:5.

In the words of C. JoyBell C. “Don’t be afraid of your fears, they’re not there to scare you, they’re there to let you know that something is worth it”. Fear is a satanic weapon that enslaves men, like a disease it’s contagious and can be contracted by those with unguarded hearts. It’s a torment and demon of destruction whose antidote is courage. What you don’t face, sooner or later will phase you out, what you fail to address today will address your joy to pain tomorrow, what you fear will have a grip over you and soon will lord over you (Job 3:25). So no matter the giants on the way, no matter the mountains that seems insurmountable before you, do not shiver or be terrified; only believe that as soon as you get to such cross roads; with God on your side, most assuredly you will overcome. What do you expose your heart to? Don’t spend time thinking and worrying about your greatest fears, for the things we fear most often befalls us and limits our greatness.

The verse before this says: I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. There are fears that make the heart ponder and wonder, there are fears that makes you act the way you feel, there are fears that swallows your self-worth, there are fears that make you lose your self esteem, there are fears that keeps you silent when you should be bold and speak and above all there is a fear of the unknown. But no matter the fears you’ve faced or are facing now, the good news is that if you will look upon Jesus and take your eyes away from your fears, you will leap over the terrifying walls and your greatest fears.

Friends, its so sweet to trust in Jesus, through your darkest nights and deepest fears, learn to trust in God and by faith rest on His word and depend on Him. Are you in distress? Are you plagued with unpleasant circumstances? Have you found your self in an unprofitable venture and association? Are you really in need of help and deliverance? Do you earnestly desire a supply of every needful-good thing in your life? Then friends, look unto Jesus in your fears and stop seeing the giants on the way for you are well able to overcome and God is abundantly able to accomplish all that concerns you today.

David’s prayers helped him to silence his fears; many besides him have looked unto the Lord by faith and prayer, and He has wonderfully revived and comforted them. When we look to the world, we are perplexed, and at a loss. But on looking to Christ births relief and all needful things. So folks have you been looked upon with no respect? or looked after with little or no concern? as you look unto Jesus in your fears, He will welcome you to His throne of grace; hear, save and deliver you out of all your troubles.

The word “look” in the scriptural context typifies a desire for help, Beloved who are you looking to? Where do you draw your strength? Where is your compass? If you keep looking unto man for help, you will never see the hand of God but peanuts nor the supply of every needful and good thing in life. So in the scotching sun and in the heavy rain, stop looking at the magnitude of your problems, start seeing the magnitude and greatness of your God and start seeing the God behind the scene and soon little by little He will unfold the greatness in your turbulence. For as long as you do this, much light is gained which births joy, peace and comfort for your soul as shame or disappointments will pass away for you will see shame if you don’t look to Jesus in your fears.
