Let your light so shine – part 2

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”. (Matthew 5:16).

The sun has a glory, likewise the moon and stars, as each star differs from another in glory so does God demands your light to not just shine, but outshine others and so shine before men. There are little lights and great lights, no matter how little or great your light may be, no matter the strength and magnitude of your light; God forbids your light to dim, He wants you to shine. Why? He wants it to reflect to others. Why? You radiating God’s light is a pointer of the heavenly nature and culture to men.

The term “light” in this scriptural context typifies “doing good”, it talks about good deeds, good and greater works, acts of love, kindness, gentleness, humility, steadfastness, meekness, hand of fellowship, uprightness, etc. It means your words attested by men to be in alignment with your actions and works.

Folks, if you profess to be in Christ and you refuse to shine before men, then you are most likely to be unprofitable to God and even in other ventures of life. Your light must shine by the constant and continuous doing of good works visible enough to the sight of men. Jesus reflected his light as he had a testimony among men of doing good anywhere he went. (Acts 10:38). In the light of this, your life must reflect the Christ you profess, you must make this your number one goal, you must aim at the glory of God.

Friends, God’s desire as children of light is that we radiate noble works, He wants your Christian works unhidden before men since nothing is hidden before Him, works which by their generous and attractive character and nature win the heart of unbelievers and gain the natural admiration of men. Until Christ the Light of the world is birthed within you, you never can change the world around you and manifest His light.

God has not given you light merely for personal gratification and private use, but for the public good of mankind. Is your light out-shinning? Is your light shinning? Is your light dim? Is your light covered? Hear the word of the Lord, thy light has come and every limitation to your shining is removed in Jesus name. For your light to shine, let the world see Jesus in your life, words, actions, works, deeds and disposition. They must see your fervency and zeal for Christ, your sincerity, faithfulness, fruitfulness, integrity, courage, due diligence and love for others. Until you arise and shine, God’s glory will be hidden in your life. (Isa 60:1).

Friends, your light is not just to shine, but God’s design and plan is that it so shine, it should shine brighter and brighter daily. You cannot light a lamp only to cover it up, as it will be so glaring giving light to all who need light. Light overcomes darkness, gives direction, order, births new things, influences positively and reveals thruth. If you must be like Jesus, then you must make up your mind to reflect your light in good works to others so that God will be glorified in your life.

Prayer Lines: Father, in any way I’ve been living a double life, have mercy on me, and let your light in me shine blighter for the world to see.
