‘Why spill the water of your springs in the streets, having sex with just anyone? You should reserve it for yourselves. Never share it with strangers.’ Proverbs 5:16-17 (NLT).
Sex is God’s choiced idea. It’s his provision for procreation, his design for intimacy, his purpose for oneness, and our benefit of pleasure as matured and married couples loved by Him. Folks, your marriage speaks to the world about the nature of God, it points salvation to men and so it must not fail heaven. You must do everything to keep most especially your sex life pure before your spouse and God. So many destinies today are under the grip of satan because of little moments of loosed sexual lives they have engaged in time past. (Gen 19:30-38). Are you single or married? Do not eat up your glorious future before it appears, do not have sex with just anyone. Sex will fall by the wayside if you do not make it a priority to guard and guide your heart with God’s word. Don’t go into sex by chance but by choice, don’t venture into it to satisfy your lustful desire if you are not married, don’t be involved if you are not ready for marriage and if you must practice it, let it be with your lawful spouse to seal your holy matrimony.
God desires that as a Christian couple, your marriage be blessed with children, who may go forth abroad for the public good and who will be an extension of His love for the world to see. His innate plan is that our marriage point people to Him. God wants your sexual and love relationship to be free of sin as he derives pleasure in it been sacred before Him and men. This you can do by prioritising relational intimacy above yourself.
Solomon the Preacher said “Why spill the water of your springs in the streets, having sex with just anyone?” The word well, cistern, and fountain [Pr 5:15, 18] represent wife and rivers of waters [Pr 5:16] children, the Lord therefore enjoins us as couples to consciously and constantly ensure satisfaction blossom in our lawful conjugal enjoyments and privileges He’s granted us.
Joseph had an insight of this saving truth and so he said …”how can I do this great wickedness and sin against God” (Gen 39:9): not even against his master but he said against God, little wonder he achieved his destiny despite the journeys of the evil plots, pit and prison setbacks that catapulted him to the palace. Friends, if you must have a christian home, if your marriage must be sweetened with honey, then you must by all means abstain from extra marital affairs, the fear of God must be your culture, like Joseph the fear of God must keep you running from strangers and people that bring you defilement before God.
Are you single? your expectation of your future spouse should be a friend of God who will say “NO” to fornication and extra marital affairs at all times. Are you married? your one desire should be to sweeten and ignite your relationship with your spouse and God as we judge ourselves by our intentions but our spouses with their actions. Let your actions be devoid of sexual sins and live in harmony with the wife of your youth.
Friends, cultivate sexual bonding always with your spouse as this feeds your marriage healthy as marital sexual intimacy blossom with diligence though it can be a bumpy road at times, but if you cleave to the hem of Christ and the arms of love of your spouse, you’ll have the best ride of your life worth living for devoid of regrets, pains and disappointments. Make your love story beautiful today and let it be admired by God.
Prayer Lines: Father, my life is in your hand, my days are with you, keep me from strangers. My Father, keep me from defilement.
