“The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.” (Proverbs 12:22)
One of the secrets to marital bliss is to be open to your spouse at all times in everything. Ann Landers once said: “The naked truth is always better than the best dressed lies.” Do you desire a christian home where Jesus is enthroned, then you must teach your children nothing but the truth. Don’t be a parent who will teach your children to lie. For instance, telling your children to tell anyone who visits and ask after your where about that you are not around.
The terrible thing about telling lies is that, once you’ve been known as a liar, even when you are telling the truth, people will still doubt and discredit your story. Folks, learn to be open and build trust if you must enjoy your courtship or marriage.
Are you married or single? What are you speaking to your partner? If you are careful with your choice of words such that they don’t offend your spouse, then you’re seen as perfect before God. (James 3:2). Lets learn some moral lessons from the meekest of men- Moses who “spake unadvisedly with his lips” and was thus denied access into Canaan. (Psalm 106:33), Job who darkened counsel by words without knowledge. (Job 38:2) and Peter whose words on an occasion drew upon him the rebuke: “Get thee behind me, satan”. Friends, these men: Moses, Job and Peter failed heaven consequent to the words of their mouth which was evil in God’s sight.
Do you aim to see joy? Do you wish to enjoy your marriage? Then let truth spice your relationship sweet, do not introduce lies, let it blossom in trust. Nothing is more needful in relationships to truth than a contrite heart devoid of lies. What are the choice of words to your partner today? Are they full of deceit and lies ot are they sweetened with sincerity and truth? Repent today.
Prayer Lines: Father, keep falsehood and lies far from me in Jesus name.
