Respect is very important because women in their nature are emotional beings. Their spirit, soul and body daily long for appreciation from their chosen men, little wonder they fall prey to whoremongers when they get these compliments outside the home front.

I know of someone whose wife’s boss bought her a “top” (a feminine shirt). Now when the husband got home lately at night, his welcoming note was a smile: “Darling, see the top my boss bought for me”, the husband been tired, said nothing, went straight to the bedroom and beckoned the wife to sleep. When she had that, she said “so I now disturb you”, she muted, remained in the sitting room and silently cried all night and never spoke to the husband for the space of three days. The man did everything to come back to terms with his wife but for the intervention of God, it took him over one month for the wife to be free with him again despite all the gifts he showered upon his wife to win back her attention, love, trust and attention.

Friends are you daily talking and listening to your woman. Whether she’s making sense or not, whether you are tired or not, whether you are in the mood to talk or not, whether you just want to be alone or not; wisdom demands you listen to her because by her nature she is an emotional being that always want to talk and its either she is talking to you or she’s seeing someone outside to talk to. Gentleman, sincerely is your wife talking to you? God’s design is for excellence in communication and respect, if this is breached, then comparisons will set in. I pray for you, it shall not be so for your relationship in Jesus name. God’s purpose for us is never to compare our spouse with others. God sees this as foolishness. (2 Corinthians 10:12). He has fashioned us to appreciate our spouses, to call them by a pet name, to care, esteem and learn from each other, to honour him/her, to say yes “my lord”, to say yes “my princess” and to love and respect them the way they are.

Be wise and turn a new leaf today and be devoted to each other like a loving family and I tell you if you’ll do this, the grace in showing respect for each other will be released by Almighty God. Amen
