Commit to Memory: “If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5 AMP).
In the words of Job, man born of a woman is full of trouble and of few days. Infact, life is full of temptations such that the only person who will never be tempted is a dead man. No temptation- no life, no temptation in your marital union- no marital bliss, no temptation- no lifting or promotion. Why? Temptation is the examination to every promotion you seek in any sphere in your life. Why? Every temptation tests your wisdom and when passed offers your increase and next level.
Friends, it’s regrettable to see that the first Adam fell and couldn’t overcome the temptation of food presented by satan as we see that Adam and Eve exchanged their innocence for confusion and their provision for hardship (Genesis 3:13; 16-19). That disobedience brought limitation to the human race and handed authority to Satan to make him the god of this world- a position man originally was gifted and held. In same similitude, Satan first temptation to the last Adam (Jesus) was also food but Jesus overcame. The wisdom of God was just at work in Him as His manifold wisdom sank his temptation and right away He was strengthened and ministered to by Angels and administered a victorious life (Mark 4:1-11).
In today’s commit to memory, the Almighty God said and is still saying. If we lack wisdom, ask via hunger and God will give us wisdom. Intelligence is not the same as wisdom. I know a lot of smart people that I believe do not have a lick of common sense and make very bad spiritual choices that they will or have already regretted. We think we are special and invincible. We think we have all the answers. We even think that we know best. Beloved, have you ever done anything dumb or stupid? Of course, we all have. I pray may the manifold wisdom of God begin to work in you in Jesus name.
Reflection: In your life’s endeavours, every moment of resistance to temptation is victory and a next level.
Prayer Lines: Father, in my life’s exodus give me the grace and wisdom to overcome temptations.
