Commit to Memory: “Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.” (Matthew 12:36-37 MSG)
As Christians, God wants us to speak right words. Words of love, words of life, words of power, words of grace, words of comfort, positive words that will build any and every time in our everyday life. This explains why any time God wants to bless his people, He usually will do it by words. Why? Blessings are transferred by words. Today’s commit to memory, cautions us strongly that: “Words are powerful; take them seriously. Why? Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation”.
Friends, do you want to use your words to hurt or build others? God’s desire is that we think upon good things. Do you really think God wants you to speak things other than what is good? He is our creator and wants only good things for us. But, He also wants good things for others. So detest negative people around you else the negative atmosphere they carry smears on you, avoid calls that stirs violence and wrath as you become what you constantly hear over time.
Often times, when I see and sense people that are always negative in their speaking. They say for instance how things are terrible, bad, worse, never going their way, how the whole world is falling on them, how any and everything is deteriorating, complains upon complains, setbacks after setbacks, blame games upon blame games showing irresponsibility to the very decisions they took. I just shut down such individuals because of the negative vibes and atmosphere they try to transmit and spread. I pray that the Spirit of righteousness will permeate us so that our words will become the words of Jesus such that we will begin to talk and speak like Jesus at all times.
Reflection: If God is to take assessment of your words, will you be condemned or applauded?
Prayer Lines: Father, let my words be full of grace, love, power, fire and comfort now and always in Jesus name.
