Commit to Memory: “Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress.” (1Timothy 4:15 NLT).
Everything we see and behold in life is created for purpose. In fact the people that cross our paths is but for a purpose and so we must discern rightly. There is a divine purpose in the adversities we encounter daily. The Living Bible puts 1 Timothy 4:15 this way as touching the potentials the Lord has birthed in us. It says:
“Put these abilities to work; throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone may notice your improvement and progress.”
Many have gone to be with the Lord, some died pregnant with potentials, creative ideas with a still-born purpose. Look at Elisha whose dead bones still raised the dead. This speaks volumes of the potentials God has deposited in mankind. May the Lord release the grace to help you fulfil the purpose you were born.
Friends, what is making you not to actualize your God given potentials? Is it greed like Gehazi? Is it the love of money like Judas Iscariot? Is it lust and the craving for strange women like Samson? Is it love for material and mundane things like Demas? Is it drunkenness of power like Herod? Is it fear like Peter? Etc. If you fail or refuse to fulfil your purpose, you will be substituted. It is for this reason Saul was substituted for David, Ephraim for Manasseh and Judas Iscariot for Apostle Paul. And the truth is that the substitute is usually and will do better than the one that was substituted. I pray as the Lord lives, may you never get to the point where the Almighty God will replace you in Jesus name.
Reflection: Life becomes meaningless and unbearable when purpose is unknown or abused…
Prayer Lines: Father help me to recognize, cultivate and manifest every untapped potential in my life.
