Commit to memory: “So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.” (Hebrews 6:18 NLT)
It’s appalling that it takes years to build but a little moment to pull down what has been built- that’s how and what men can do, but God he takes pleasure in building lives. See how he transformed the lives of the mad man of Gadara, the woman with the issue of blood, the Samaritan woman at the well etc. He left a mark in the lives of all he met. O What a God who takes pleasure in the prosperity of his children. So if our souls are not firmly anchored it is not because God is in any way insufficient and not sensitive to our needs, but because we have allowed ourselves to be distracted from his abundant sufficiency.
Another implication of God not been a man is in His ability and capability to see, know and do all things. How and why? He sustains the ability of been the Source that never runs dry so that He can supply every need in your life no matter how enormous the need, He sympathizes with the wounded and broken that was why Jesus didn’t condemn the woman caught in the very act of adultery that was brought to him, He guards and guides the wanderer- imagine the multitude of wanderers in the earth today, He supplies mercy for the struggling soul, He heals without traces- just imagine that; he really as God is not a man, He cares and provides for the fowls of the air notwithstanding their number, He transforms beyond recognition, He is able to save to the uttermost, He delivers the oppressed and binds up the broken hearted. Etc. Now for The Almighty God to be able and sustain the ability and prowess to do any and all of these- He really must not be a man. It is for this reason the Bible says that the trade mark of Jesus was “Doing good” (Acts 10:38). He was not faking it- He was living the Zoe life so God is not a man.
Beloved, God is not a man because He cannot make mistakes. He has a purpose for your life and for whatever you are going through, be rest assured He’s sure made an escape route for your joy and peace. Hallelujah
Reflection: if God alone sustains the ability to see, know and do all things, then He is not a man.
