Commit to Memory: “Again, when a wicked man turns away from his wickedness which he has committed and practices justice and righteousness, he will save his life. Because he considered and turned away from all his transgressions which he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.” (Ezekiel 18:27-28).

What are the areas of your life that needs checkups just as you do for your physical body or visceral organs? Your spiritual life should not be left out but given utmost attention. It is for this reason the Almighty God said in today’s commit to memory that if you make up your mind to do a spiritual checkup of your Christian walk with Him, you are most likely to see and He will point you to the areas of your life that needs attention and repentance and this will keep you alive and sensitive to spiritual things. It is for this purpose He said in Job 22:23 NLT

“If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored- so clean up your life.”

When there are no checkups, there is usually a total breakdown in health. If that is true of our mortal bodies. It is much truer as it concerns your spiritual life. In same similitude, when an individual is not doing medical checkups on a regular basis, overtime, he or she might not know whether he or she is prone to having a failing organ or debilitating ailment.

Beloved, what are the areas calling for attention by the Almighty? A better approach would be to concentrate on removing the log in your own eyes instead of always seeing the beam in the eyes of others. Leave people alone and work on the failing areas and weaknesses in your life.

Is your hunger and thirst to know God better and greater today than the way it used to be? Are you lukewarm and only loving for ulterior motives? Is the word of God guiding your choices, decisions, ruling and reigning over your life? Do you detest and run away from sin in all its colours and patterns? Etc. These and many more areas we need to examine if we must ascend the hills of the Lord. What is that area of your spiritual life that needs spiritual checkup? You sure need to give it urgent and utmost attention today.

Reflection: If your spiritual life is not given spiritual checkup, you are most likely to crash, fail, fall or falter spiritually on the day of your coronation and celebration.

Prayer Lines:

•Father, set every cold altar ablaze in my life.

•Father, take away, diagnose and consume whatever that does not look like Jesus in my life.

•Father, mend and set on fire every broken altar, let them begin to burn for you now and always.

•Father, make me sensitive to spiritual things. Awake O Lord my spiritual senses.
