Spiritual Checkups- Part 2

Commit to Memory: “Let us test and examine our ways, and let us return to the Lord!” (Lamentations 3:40 AMPC)

Spiritual Checkups have a checklist that we must follow through every now and then if we really want to see Jesus in glory. Most of the time, when patients visit clinics or the hospital, one of the key things they normally undergo first before diagnosis or treatment is to ascertain their vitals. Now if it’s true that it is the vitals the physicians will check and comprehend before forging ahead in their medical duties as it concerns such patients, it is therefore pertinent that your spiritual vitals be ascertained daily if you are serious with your Christian walk with Jesus. It is for this reason God wants us to consider our ways. Haggai 1:5-7 says:

“Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, “Consider your ways! …Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Consider your ways!”

Beloved, God wants us to consider our ways, do an audit of our spiritual life and if there is any way we falling away from the ancient paths or missing the mark as laid by Jesus, then quickly we must be reconciled back to God. We must begin the spiritual examination as a daily routine and return back to God even now.

Some of the spiritual vitals to check on are your spiritual eyes, ears and other spiritual perception senses. Have you gone blind spiritually such that lust has consumed every part of your being? When was the last time you heard from God? Have you turned prophets to God such that you no longer seek the Lord but now your attachment to prophets have taken the place of God in your life? Have you thrown caution to the wind such that you must talk in all matters, anyhow and anywhere without control? Do you have a control button over anger, malice, lust, love for money etc? Beloved, what are the easily besetting sins still reigning in your mortal bodies? (Hebrews 12:2). It is time to examine ourselves and return to God.

Reflection: There is a dimension of God’s glory that will never manifest in our lives until we are intentional about our spiritual checkups.

Prayer Lines

•Father, I don’t want to be full of myself, let your love and light reflect and shine in and through me.

•Father, I am yours forever, I surrender my will, actions and days to You. Take over Lord.
