The God of Fulfillment- Part 2

Commit to Memory: “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 1:6)

Friends, if it is God who started the good work in your life, then one thing is certain- He’s not a God who starts what He cannot finish; He has no record of abandoning projects. Whatever He starts he has the power to bring to pass and sustains the ability to make provision for finishing well and strong that and all that concerns you.

In 1 Sam.16:11-13, David was anointed with a horn of oil, though he was anointed- he never sat on the throne of Israel because there was a Saul. But again in 2 Sam.2:1-4, after the demise of Saul; Abner- the captain of Saul had Ish-bosheth (the son of Saul) anointed as king to reign in the stead of his father and Ish-bosheth reigned over eleven tribes except the tribe of Judah which David reigned and ruled over because he was from there.

I believe in the heart of David like many of us, must have been asking and soliloquizing- When will this project of been a king come to pass, when will I sit on the throne, he would have imagined- God you anointed me by the hands of Samuel, what is happening to me, would you pls help me fulfill your plan for my life, when are you going to complete this work of enthronement you have spoken concerning me? Why is the throne of Israel still far from my reach? When are you going to finish this project? I mean this work you have started since I was a little shepherd boy.

But when you get to 2 Sam. 5:1-5, the elders of Israel made David king over all Israel. He was now king over all the twelve tribes, so we see that that David was anointed three times. How? Samuel anointed David king before his brothers (2 Sam.16:11-13). The chosen men of Judah anointed David king over the house of Judah (2 Sam.2:1-2) and finally the elders of Israel anointed him to be king all over Israel (2 Sam.5:1-5). God started the journey with him in the bush and he completed what he started with David. He removed every obstacle on his way and fought for David, He fulfilled all that concerned David. May the God of fulfilment perfect all that concerns you in this wise.

Reflection: The world can offer you nothing but disappointments and sorrow, but to get fulfillment in all things; it has to come from somewhere above and beyond- the realm invisible to mankind, it hails and comes from God.

Prayer Lines: Father, all you have started in my life, in my life time bring them all to fulfillment beyond my imagination.
