Commit to Memory: “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:1–2.

Friends, the cosmos has nothing good to offer the Believer. So seek those things that are above where Christ is seated. Seek Jesus today and always. What exactly is taking your heart away from Jesus? Turn a new leaf today, the song writer sang: “Goodbye world, I stay no longer with you, goodbye pleasures of sin- I stay no longer with you, Why? Because I’ve made up my mind to go God’s way for the rest of my life”.

The Bible says the Lord was with Joseph and prospered him wherever he went and whatever he did (Gen.39:2-3, 23). Every one around him just liked and favoured him and all things were by default working together for his good. Why? Because he sought the Lord. His gaze and attention was on God (the Big picture) that was why he couldn’t fall to the trap by portiphar’s wife (the small picture) to ensnare his destiny (Gen.39:9) and according to our commit to memory today: he sought the things above. He sought to be and remain as pure as light. He was holy, blameless, forgiving, had a large heart of love and seeing people the way God sees them. Halelluyah. See what David said in Psalm 27:8

“When You said, seek my face, my heart said to You, Your face O Lord I shall seek.”

Friends, very soon, the trumpet of God will sound and you will be inexcusable, books will be opened, and judgment will begin. But today Dearly Beloved, there is time. Seek Him, believe in the crucified and risen Christ for your salvation. Embrace His saving grace and love, repent, restitute and and let the Holy Spirit convict you of that sin that separates you from your Maker now. Worship Him today. This clarion call is more urgent than securing the latest car, VIP clothing or luxurious gadgets in vogue and more satisfying than the mundane life you brag about. He is near. Cry out to Him, and He will answer.

Reflection: When you seek God’s face; His presence dwells in you and set you apart for things above so that you begin to experience His rest.

Prayer Lines: Father of Light, draw me closer, take me deeper in love with you and give me rest on every side. Jesus help me to set my heart on things above.
