Commit to Memory: “Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.” Hosea 10:12 KJV
Do you know that it takes a conscious effort to seek the Lord? There are a lot of things that can distract you and take your gaze, motive, good acts away from the Lord. A whole lot of things can shift your attention away from seeking Jesus in today’s world. For example: The desire to be rich by all means and at all cost. The love of money has smeared many hearts with hot iron and pierced them with many sorrows they never bargained from the onset (1 Timothy 6:10).
Beloved, God wants you to seek him today, even now and to continually seek him at all times and in all situations. What does it mean to seek Jesus? It is a “setting of the mind and heart” on God. It requires you been intentional. Fixing or focusing of your mind’s attention and heart’s affection on God and God alone. 1 Chronicles 22:19 puts it this way:
“Now set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God…”
But then, why is there an urgency to seek the Lord Jesus? A day is coming when this clarion call to come to seek Jesus for salvation and eternity will expire. Why? A time is coming when His kindness and blood that leads us to repentance and faith will lose its significance or value. So seek the Lord even now before it is too late (Rev.3:20).
Until you seek the Lord in righteousness, you cannot find Him. Stop living in sin, be ye separate from alcohol, drugs, immorality and that addiction that has enslaved you all these years. It is time to seek the Lord and that time is now.
Reflection: Are you weighed down and giving up on life? Are you traumatized by the vicissitudes of life? Are you giving up on life and lost hope in the future. SEEK JESUS AND LIVE.
Prayer Lines: Father, help me to seek and find you in righteousness now and always. Dear Lord Jesus, give me a heart to daily pant after you in the order of David.
