Commit to memory: “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
2 Timothy 2:3 KJV
A song writer wrote: “Goodbye world I stay no longer with you, goodbye pleasures of sin I stay no longer with you, I’ve made up my mind to go God’s way for the rest of my life…”
Beloved, what are the concerns that negate your fitness for the kingdom? No not one can do any business in a proper manner; if he or she is attending to other things. In other words, lack of focus can lead to unproductivity in the Kingdom business. Have you made up your mind to walk with the Lord and work for Him? Do you desire to be a living epistle? Then get rid of distractions, unprofitable arguments and squabble, resolve to go all the way with zeal and zest of thy first love. Stop looking back to Sodom. Why? Looking back leads to drawing back and drawing back births perdition. Jesus said if anyone draws back, His soul will have no pleasure in such a fellow. (Heb.10:38). I pray for a user of this inspiration, may the Lord supply you the grace to endure to the end in Jesus name.
To look back while working is to mar the work entirely, so at anytime and day if you look back, you lose your fitness and by default become disqualified for the work of the kingdom of God. Are you a labourer in this kingdom? May heaven not disqualify your work and inputs in Jesus name. 2 Timothy 2:4 says
“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”
Apostle James warns us of such behaviour as he puts it this way “… do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility towards God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” (James 4:4, NASB). Will you be ready to meet the Lord? Will you be ready when the Lord shall come? As relayed in today’s commit to memory- you must make up your mind to endure your share of suffering. May His grace be sufficient for you.
Reflection: You know you are on the right path when all that matters to you is to meet the Saviour at last.
Father, keep me burning and focused till I meet you in glory.
