An Attitude of Gratitude

Commit to Memory: I will keep on hopping for you to help me, I will praise you more and more. (Psalm 71:14)

The spirit of gratitude is your access to an altitude that gravitates heaven’s  beatitudes to flow in your direction. You want to be raised by the invisible hand of God? Then engage in praise! Let your heart gratify him, for if you will testify of God’s goodness in your life, you will experience increase. See what David said in Psalm 67:5-6

“Let the people praise thee, O God; then shall the earth yield her increase and God even our God shall bless us”.

This shows that whenever you engage an attitude of consistent gratitude, God becomes committed to your increase, fruitfulness and blessings. In other words, you will suffer lack if you are always complaining and fail in praise to God. Little wonder the song writer wrote: “Count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.” This is because the bible admonishes us to praise the Lord for His goodness and all His wonderful works in the life of the Children of men (Psalm 107:8).

Look at the words of David in today’s commit to memory; for him there was no condition that he couldn’t and will not praise God: in the good times, in the dull and ugly moments, in the night seasons; as far as David was concerned- no setback could alter his attitude of gratitude, little wonder seventy three chapters of the book of psalms meaning praise(s) were attributed to be authored by David. For a user of this inspiration; may your altar call forth God in the place of praise.

Beloved, no matter what comes your way, like David may you see reasons to think to thank, reflect to praise and imagine to worship God in the down times. It’s amazing that despite the oil on the head of David, he still had to go through the night seasons; he faced a bear, lion and a giant; but through it all- his anchor was in the Lord- he would not just stop in renditions to his Maker- he turned every atmosphere within and around him an atmosphere of praise and Worship. In all circumstance and every situation, David just kept on praising the Lord, no wonder he won the heart of God despite all his faults and sins. His praise drew God nearer to him and became the air he breathed. This birthed increase in his greatness and comfort on every side as his praise raised the seed that birthed the Christ. May this be your testimony as you engage the praise channel.

Reflection: There are countless things God has done that you may never see or know, but if you thank Him for the things you are aware of; it’s a reminder of the things that are pending.

Prayer Lines: Father, the reason I live is to praise you, raise me up for this course.
