Day 21st, May 2020
Commit to Memory: “I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” 1 Corinth 15:31 NKJV
Friends, the Almighty is in search of an army to bring down his Kingdom. In times like this, he is on the lookout for soldiers who will bring down his shekinah glory, power, presence and peace. God is daily in need of men who will not look back and the truth is that only dead men don’t look back (Gen.19:26). Are you alive in yourself like Lot’s wife who looked back ? Are you easily prone to anger? Are you so full of yourself? Have you taken up the job of accusing the brethren- the assignment of the devil? Are you above the authority God has placed over you such that you speak ill and fight such leadership? Are your lips sweetened with lies of all kinds and tones? Etc. The Lord is saying you need to die a spiritual death. Death to what? death to your pride, death to your ego, death to sexual pleasures, death to lust of the eyes and flesh, death to ambition and death to self.
Spiritual death is a MUST for the new covenant Believer as even Jesus did not escape it. He died twice at Calvary tree. First, spiritually when he was for the first time in the union of the triune God separated from his Father so much more that he cried in agony (Matthew 27:46). And then secondly, he died the physical death which was the wages of the sins of the world. What happened here was that Jesus had to die to give life to mankind and deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage (Hebrews 2:15).
Death is the zenith of all sacrifices in the Kingdom. No impartation, prayer, fasting, praise, sacrificial seed, Tithe, pledge or kingdom service can substitute for Death. If you don’t go down- God cannot raise you up, for the way up is first down. For example you first start climbing a mountain or stair case at the base. It’s a spiritual law that Christ couldn’t bend on his exodus to the work of redemption. Apostle Paul speaking in Galatians 5:24 NLT said:
“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.”
In the Kingdom, the heavens open only to those who are dead men and by spiritual death, we do not mean separation from God in this light but absolute surrenderedness and brokenness. When this happens, you become a zombie for the Lord, nothing becomes too difficult to let go to gain more of God, nothing becomes impossible to accomplish for the Lord, no price becomes too big and much for the kingdom sake and so the Lord becomes the very first among the important things in your life. Hallelujah.
Reflection: Spiritual death births kingdom value and determines the magnitude of your rewards.
Prayer Lines: Father, crucify in me every fleshy desire and passion that I may live for you
