Battle at the Gate- part 4

Commit to Memory: “And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.” (Exodus 3:7-8 KJV)

There are several steps we can gain victory at the enemy’s gate. Prominent among them is by Divine interventions. Why? Every supernatural accomplishment and deliverance answers to divine intervention by God’s mercy.

According to our reference text above, I want you to know that the Lord sees and knows all your concerns and have decided to attend to your cry, that’s why he said that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. As the Lord intervenes and gives you a new song and story today, may he come down by himself and touch you by his mercy.

Secondly, you can gain victory at the gate by sacrifice. 2 Kings 3:26-27 relays the story of the king of Moab and the Moabites who combated Israel. Now because the Lord was with Israel they prevailed and won always in all their battles but on this occasion, because of a man’s sacrifice who wasn’t even an Israeli (Believer), the Bible says there was an indignation against Israel meaning the Israelites had to run for their lives just because of the sacrifice of one man.

Thirdly, you can overcome the enemy at the gate by running away from sin (Jere.5:25). Why? Sin makes you sink, stink and sick. Why? It sponsors satanic attacks that keeps you far from man’s help and heaven’s reach. Little wonder Jesus said to that woman caught in the very act of adultery, “Go and sin no more” (John 8:2-11) and to another he said “sin no more else something worse befalls thee” (John 5:14). This shows that sin makes God handicapped unable to fight for us as you become vulnerable to attacks when you toil with sin. This again is key as sin is a piercing spear that opens a man to all round attack and if we must win we must  run from it and run for our lives. (Gen.39:9).

Lastly, when you cry out to God in prayers you can gain victory at the enemy’s gate. In the order of Jabez as you cry out to God, may he give you victory and strength to take the battle to the gate in Jesus name.
