Commit to Memory: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2 KJV)
For the Believer, our helper in every time of need is the Lord Himself. Have your crisis become a torment? Are you helpless such that you are contemplating help from Egypt- a place of help that leads to damnation? May be you thought you will call one or two relations to help you out of a messy situation, but all of a sudden, they too need help or perhaps they want to ridicule you and use that as an avenue to lord over you. Listen, what you need is the Help of God. Its for this reason, the psalmist said in today’s commit to memory that I will look unto God? Because my help comes only from the Lord. Can this be your daily attitude? As I tell you, if you can maintain this culture of living, then Ebenezer, will come to you. He surely will come and pour Himself into your needs.
Sometimes we bring physical, emotional, and interpersonal suffering on ourselves by sinning. In such situations, God may discipline us with pain so we will learn not to do the same thing again. In the process, we should reaffirm our trust in God as our deliverer from all our woes and present help in the time of need. There are times, circumstances and situations become a crisis and on the long run torment us. There are times when our challenges defile all alternatives and help of man. In such desperate moments, we need the help of God. In such carious moments when our face is against the wall, we need the help of God. We need to cry out to Him to come to our rescue.
Friends, God comes to help because there is no hope for humanity apart from God, His help becomes needful and must be sourced if we are wise. So take advantage of the help you can receive from God instead of been disappointed of the help you intend receiving from men by walking by your senses. Why? The arm of flesh will fail and disappoint but those who put their trust in God shall not be put to shame.
Reflection: In difficult times, while we trust and rely on God, we must develop an attitude of no plan B.
Prayer Lines: Be pleased O Lord to deliver me, make haste to help me my Father and my God.
