Commit to Memory: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” (James 4:8 KJV).
God’s intention from the beginning of the creation of man was that we have fellowship with Him. This explains why Elohim will leave his throne in the heavens of heaven just to come have fellowship in the cool of the day with Adam (Genesis 3:8-9). So we see that in the garden of Eden, the Lord walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day. And guess what, God’s desire was that this communion he had with man will grow and continue. But then sin broke man’s fellowship with God when satan deceived Eve such that they both ate of the forbidden fruit. Sin caused a separation between them and God and drove them from Eden- the spot and place of communion. And ever since God has been searching for communion with men and for worshippers to cement the broken relationship he once had with Adam.
Friends, do you know that in the order of spiritual things, communion comes first before service which births empowerment. This explains why the major reason Jesus chose the twelve disciples was to first be with Him, to commune with him so that He will pour Himself on them, so the Almighty God is daily seeking for worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and Truth. Jesus chose his twelve disciples for fellowship. Mark 3:14 KJV puts it this way:
“And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach.”
Beloved, do you want a life of impact and dominion? Then draw near to God in communion, confess and forsake your sins just as today’s commit to memory says, give attention to your personal relationship with God. Give your relationship with God time and dedication to grow, watch out for the cool of the day- the same time God usually commune with Adam- preferably 6:00am (the hour of communion) and maximize this time of communion to fellowship with God, give it commitment to blossom, shower it with hunger, love and zeal and watch God’s light shines on you such that you begin to radiate in the glory of the Almighty.
Reflection: The crisis of the believer is his or her inability to maintain a cordial relationship with God.
