Commit to Memory: “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” (Luke 22:31-32 KJV)
The way to life changing encounters is on the mountain of intercession. The mountain is where men are empowered for destiny. This makes the need for intercession very key for the rising of a Believer. One of the reasons we often experience several perils is because of failure to engage in intercession. To do this, we must develop a burden for intercession. Intercession is simply been on the altar of prayers for others, leaders, the needy, family members. Intercession takes you to the presence of God to find help for any and every need. Learn to pray for others as whatever you pray for others is multiplied for you. Pray for nations, marriages, businesses, your wife, your husband, leaders, pastors, ministers of the gospel, mothers, fathers etc.
In today’s commit to memory, we see that the reason Jesus prayed ahead, I mean interceded for Peter was significantly because of the eleven disciples. Why? When Peter is weak, falls and fails, the other Apostles will be weak, fall and fail. Strike the Shepherd then the sheep will scatter. Why? Jesus knew that once the enemy can capture Peter, then the remaining disciples of Christ will quit following and professing the faith they once upheld. Jesus identified the need of intercession for Peter because of the gates of hell that were against the Gospel to the Jews of which Peter represents their mouth piece.
This explains why when Herod killed James and observed that the Jews were pleased, imprisoned Peter and while planning to kill him also, the Bible says prayers were made without ceasing by the Apostles for Peter and suddenly the Lord intervened miraculously. I pray the Lord will make and find you worthy to be an intercession in your family and nation in Jesus name.
Reflection: Cultivating an attitude of intercession is a secret that’s epic to the rising of men…
Prayer Lines: Father, the grace and burden of intercession release upon me in Jesus name.
