Commit to Memory: “Then Jesus shouted, Lazarus, come out!” (John 11:43 NLT)
The grave is a place of desolation, loneliness, buried virtues and potentials. It’s the final place of hopelessness and helplessness for the one who is a sinner. It’s a forgotten place but the good news is that our Redeemer and Saviour went to the grave and after three days, he rose again and because he rose again for a user of this devotional may you rise from the grave and leave the graveyard in the name of Jesus.
In today’s commit to memory story line, Lazarus was sick and then died. So we see here that you cannot tell by the circumstances of a man whether God loves him or not as we see that Jesus loved Lazarus when he was sick. Not only that- Jesus will let Lazarus die- but He still loves him. In the hour of crisis and need, remember that God loves you. We think that love must act immediately, but sometimes delay brings a greater blessing: “God’s delays are not God’s denials.” Jesus gave them a promise to encourage them while they waited and when He showed up he called forth Lazarus out of the grave and right away he came out alive from the grave. May the Resurrection and the Life bring you out of any and every kind of grave experience today.
Friends, have you given up on your health as the condition seems hopeless and helpless? It means you are in the grave. Have you been neglected and forgotten by friends and family? Have your close relations cut you off such that you have been tagged misfortune, a failure and abandoned in afflictions? Then you are in a grave. Are you experiencing dryness in all spheres? Has your income, finances, womb, health, marriage, business, career etc dried up all of a sudden, unexpectedly and mysteriously? Then you are in a grave. Are things always on downtime and in the direction of bad to worse and worst? Then you are in the grave. Are there dead things in your life, though you are still alive? Is any part of your body dead, your marriage dead, your businesses dead? Then you are in a grave. Is your destiny buried and sealed such that your talent, blessings, star, etc is not manifesting, then you are in a grave. But as the Lord lives whatever is not consistent with God’s plan and purpose in your life shall loose its grip over you. Right there where you are, I like you to confess and declare wherever you are: “I rise from the grave and leave the grave yard in Jesus name”.
Reflection: Jesus didn’t just come to take away your pain but went through pain so that you could live through pain to resurrection.
Prayer Lines: In the name of Jesus, every situation of loneliness, hopelessness and helplessness in my life, family, business and ministry I come out.
