Commit to Memory: “Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning… (Joel 2:12 KJV)

One of the ways Jesus defeated Satan before the cross was through fastings. Fastings birthed in him the requisite strength to withstand whatever troubles that was ahead of him and through it all he had ultimate victory. If Satan had succeeded in deterring Jesus from the path of persecutions, suffering and obedience, then there would be no salvation. We would still be in our sins and without hope. It’s for this reason we owe our salvation to the faithful fasting of Jesus.  

Friends, fasting is a weapon of victory. When engaged, that perilous season will bring unflinching results that will dumbfound your imagination and silence your critics.  Why cry, complain and depressed when you can use the key of fasting to unlock the issues that have kept you in the backside of life all these years. Listen, don’t ride over this quickly. Think on it. Jesus began his ministry with fasting. It was fasting that generated the power and dimensions he operated that was alien to men of his time. And he triumphed over the devil through fasting.

A time came in the life of the disciples that they didn’t and couldn’t cast out a demon in the life of a fellow, so they came to Jesus and began to ask why they were unable to cast out the demons. In his response Jesus said this type of issue, goeth not but by prayer and fasting. This means there are certain issues that answers only to fastings. Make up your mind today to begin to live a life of consistent and purpose driven kingdom life of fasting.
