Commit to Memory: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 KJV)

The Holy Spirit in this dispensation is one of the profound gift of the New Testament believer. Imagine a life without the in filling of the Holy Spirit, it will be a life out of direction and struggle. It is for this reason the song writer sang: “The Spirit of God in the heart of men is something more than good.” No wonder Paul said in Romans 8:11 NIV

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”

This means it will give life to whatever is dying in your life. Could it be your business, marriage, career, relationships or any organ of your body is dying or periled? Once you have the Holy Spirit dwelling on your inside, there will be re-creation of any cell, tissue or organ of your body and of any and everything lacking, dead or decaying in your life; that is not in line with the plan of God for your life.

Beloved, are there addictions you struggle with in the secret such that if people are aware; you could lose relationships, jobs and contracts? What is that secret sin you are battling with? Listen only the Holy Spirit can help you defeat it. No wonder one of his names is called the HELPER. Once you make up your mind to surrender to God and allow the Holy Spirit take full place in your life as the Lord lives- your song shall be: the detestable things I use to do, I do them no more. The terrible places I use to go, I go there no more. Why? Because the Holy Spirit is now my senior partner and because he hates those things, I therefore hate the things that he hates.

Are you seeking for power? Do you have low self esteem? Are you so full of fear such that at the movement of a tiny cockroach, you are so scared and panting as though you just finished a thousand meters race. Today’s commit to memory says that at Pentecost after the Holy Spirit descended, the very timid Peter that at the mere presence of a little damsel was shivering, stammering and lying he never knew Jesus, all of a sudden after the impartation at the upper room; boldness with fire and power was released that an amazing harvest of souls was won so much more that three thousand, five thousand and at a time a multitude of souls were saved. More also, even the secular fishing occupation of Peter received a turn around. I pray as you long and wait on the Holy Spirit, may he pour on you a new and fresh dimension of everything he represents in Jesus name.

Reflection: We are weak and helpless when we lack the Holy Spirit, for he’s the friend of those who love, invite and expect Him…
