Death to Self- Part 3

Commit to Memory:  “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24)

Life in godliness requires death and to produce astonishing results death is inevitable. To influence lives, your life must so shine not glow; and for your life to bring God glory death must be a daily routine in your life. Just like for you to get wine- you sure have to crush some grapes, in same similitude to get a new life in union with Jesus- the old life has to be threshed and buried. You never can get life and give life without dying daily. It is for this reason that not even Jesus got a resurrection without death.Apostle Paul said in 1Cor. 15:42 that

“What is sown in the earth is subject to decay, what rises is incorruptible”.

Beloved, when we die to self; pride dies and humility rises, complacency dies and joy in the gospel rises, an attitude of complain dies and gratitude thrives, a critical spirit dies and a more celebrative spirit rises. When we die to self, unforgiveness, lies, bitterness, malice, pilfering, selfishness and the manifestation of the works of the flesh will become foreign to our experience. When death consumes you, all of a sudden, you will discover that the ill things you used to do – you do them no more and the wrong places you use to go- you go there no more. I pray that area of your life that requires spiritual death may the Lord grant you grace to surrender it for crucifixion in Jesus name.

Beloved, do you want to experience God in a deeper way? Do you want your life to count? Do you want to do greater things in unique ways? Do you hate settling for mediocrity and want to ascend the utmost height? Do you want to rise above the mundane and live for Jesus, then give it an intentional approach so that flesh and self must be crucified.

Reflection: The aftermath of death is revival and fruitfulness…

Prayer Lines: Father, I surrender to your will and way every area of my life that requires death.
