Commit to Memory: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 ESV)

One of the cunny enemy to living a victorious Christian life is “Self”and if we must go all out and far for God, self must be crucified. Self is simply any and everything in your life that will not glorify Jesus. it wars against the Spirit and makes you not to please God.  If you belong to Jesus and desire to do greater works then death to flesh and self with its passions and desires must be total (Gal.5:24).

There are many Christians that are not ready to surrender all to him. They can give their time but not their money; they can give their money but not their comfort for people to gain Christ. Whatever it is that will inconvenience them- they never can bear and yet they want to live and operate kingdom dimensions alien to the norm; No it doesn’t work that way. It was for this reason notwithstanding how great Apollos was- his impact never lasted. See what Apostle Paul said concerning this Apollos who was described as mighty in scriptures. He said he desired him to come help them in kingdom matters but because he was not dead to self he will not respond in haste even though the King’s business requires haste. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 16:12

“As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.”

He was only willing to do the work of God only when convenient for him. No. It doesn’t work like that little wonder he never went far in impact. Does this define you? Are you willing to let that ambition die so that Christ will be glorified? Think upon these things…

Reflection: The secret to a victorious christian life is an everyday death to self.
