Commit to Memory: “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinth.4:18 KJV)
Beloved, life is in phases and these phases are lived out one day at a time. However, it doesn’t matter what experiences or situations characterized your yesterday. It doesn’t matter what failures or disappointments, neither does it matter what background, family, race, tribe or generational history trails you. Why? Because they don’t necessarily define your today nor tomorrow, rather there are certain factors that determine your phases in life and most especially assures or secures your best days ahead. Little wonder the Bible says in Ephesians 5:16 that we should
“Redeem the time for the days are evil”.
Paul, writing by the inspiration of the Spirit, defines “the things that are seen” as things that are “transient or temporal.” That means they are subject to change. When you really stop to think about it, everything that you can see is temporary. The most beautiful flower eventually withers and falls to the ground. Even the sun on its brightest days, still disappears over the horizon when evening comes. The strongest and healthiest person in the world lies dead sooner or later. The “transient” nature of all that is seen is so well understood that we make our plans and live our lives according to it (or at least we think we do). None of us makes plans for a century into the future, because we assume that we won’t be around then. We purchase our automobiles and our homes and everything else with an eye for how long it is likely to last or how long we are likely to have need of these things. So friends, look not to visible things.
Do you really desire a good life in godliness, a great future and testimonial heights ahead then you must take cognizance of your attitude, actions and inactions, eliminate procrastination, strengthen your belief system, change your mindset, in other words let the mind of Christ be in you, trust God’s timing, live holy and selflessly. Make a decision today to trust God for the best and watch your life on a glorious shift.
Reflection: A good life in godliness awaits all who will not give up on destiny and God.
