The Wilderness Experience- Part 2

Commit to Memory: “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” (Peter 1:7 NLT).

There are certain stages in your life that heaven has programmed that you just have to go through the wilderness season. Why? It makes your Christian experience to be solid and authentic. Why? The wilderness is God’s system, agenda and programme for lifting his own. So we see that Joseph must go through the wilderness of evil plans, the pit and prison experiences on his exodus to the palace, David will have to be tending sheep in the bush for years and be in the cave to be qualified as king of Israel. I pray for a user of this inspiration, may the Lord be with you to see you through such seasons in Jesus name. It is for this reason David said in Psalm 23:4 NLT that:

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”

In other words David’s prayer to God was that in every dark valley God should see him through. What a prayer from the heart of a man who was once in the cave and bush. Little wonder he arrived the palace and remained sustained at that enviable height all through his reign as king for forty years.

You might be wondering, why would God allow the season of wilderness in the lives of his children? why would God allow your wilderness ceaselessly in your life that you now wonder whether God is really righteous because as far as far as you are concerned God has abandoned you. No, God has not really abandoned you. Infact, he said if a nursing mother would forget to breastfeed her suckling child, if she does at all, the Almighty God said he cannot and will not forget or abandon you. I ask you this question this morning; what experience(s) do you have to solidify your Christianity?

Reflection: It takes the wilderness experience to activate and sustain good success. Run not away from it.

Prayer Lines

•Father, make my heart to be strong in the midst of trials.

•Father, lead me through my dark moments and seasons. Jesus be with me more than ever before.
