Commit to Memory: “…To obey is better than sacrifice and to harken than the fat of rams for disobedience is as witchcraft…” (1 Samuel 15:22-23)
We have looked at the reward of obedience for the past two days now, today we will look at the perils disobedience and how it can cause demotion in the life of a man while looking at a biblical portrait of a man who lived in disobedience as we filter out moral lessons to learn. I pray for a user of this inspiration every seed of disobedience manifesting in your life will be consumed by fire in Jesus name.
Beloved, God treasures our obedience to the so called offerings and sacrifices we bring to his presence. In ancient Israel, kings were not given the liberty to offer sacrifices on behalf of the community, tribes or people. As occasion demands, they could offer sacrifices for themselves, but never for the nation. That was the express duty of priests but king Saul did otherwise and this act of disobedience brought doom for him and spelt termination of his throne.
Do you want to walk with and work for God, then your obedience must be total. If it is not complete obedience, then it is not obedience at all. How obedient are you to what God has told you and presently telling you? How obedient are you to the authorities above you? God views disobedience as witchcraft. May the Lord release the grace to be obedient at all times to his speaking, promptings and word in Jesus name.
Reflection: God’s word is first for our obedience before our understanding.
Prayer Lines
•Father, every area of my life I am living in disobedience to you and man, have mercy on me
•Father, I surrender all to you, help me that my obedience to you and your word will be total.
