Commit to Memory: “He was a burning and shinning Light…” (John 5:35).

Beloved, your light has come and God’s glory is risen upon you. There is a light that shines in darkness, I mean darkness of any and every kind cannot comprehend it. Today may this Light that was in Jesus come upon your life. But then to access this light, more than ever before you must tarry in His presence. God must see a reason good enough to release it upon you and that reason must marry his agenda. After Moses received the commandment from God, on his way back from the mountain, when the children of Israel saw him from afar, they just couldn’t look at him because the light of God’s glory covered his face.

Look at the testimony of Jesus about John the Baptist, that he was a burning and a shining light (John 5: 35). There is a difference between shining while burning and just shining. For example, the sun is a burning and glowing sphere whereas the moon just shines but does not burn, it merely reflects the sun’s light. A lamp not only shines but also burns, and so does a candle but the intensity of an electric bulb outweighs that of the candle. The Lord commanded his disciples to shine like a lamp. See what Matthew: 5: 16 AMPC says:

“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.”

God will always arise at the end of every calamity. He will always do His best after the devil has done his worst. He will arise on our behalf and stand in our defence if we will burn and shine for Him now and always. Those who burn within can give light on the outside. Those who minister with a burning heart for the Lord, His bride (The Church) and for the perishing souls are the true burning lamp. May your light of God burn and shine in and through your life in Jesus name.

Reflection: Anything that does not burn within is nothing but a reflection of another light.
