Love Not the World

Commit to Memory: “Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you”. (1 John 2:15 NLT).

Yesterday, we looked at the pain Demas brought to Apostle Paul in that he left the faith he once professed for the world of sin. And the gospel truth is that there is nowhere in scriptures we find and read of the restoration of Demas.

Friends, we must live for Jesus day after day in all honesty to ourselves then, we must depend on the Lord, for Strength (Psalm 28:8). We must be born again in and out (John 3:3); otherwise, we have no foundation of faith. Stop toying with sin at will, Be serious for once and love the Lord from a pure conscience. See what 1 John 2:19 says

“They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us”.

The tragedy of Demas is still being lived out today by those who choose the temporary benefits of this world over the eternal riches of heaven God has prepared for those that love him. It is for this reason the Bible says eyes have not seen, ears have not heard nor has the heart of any mortal conceived what God has in store for those who love Him. This means that there is great reward for those that love the Lord with a pure conscience. The eternal reward is only for those that love the Lord wholeheartedly. I pray for a user of this inspiration, may the Love of the Father, capture your heart now and always in Jesus name.

Reflection: Your past service in Kingdom matters is no guarantee of future faithfulness.

Prayer Lines: Father, find in me the man that loves you above the pleasures of this world.
