The Bondage of Anger- Part 2

Commit to Memory: “Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper- it only leads to harm.” (Psalms 37:8 NLT)

You are living in bondage, if anger is reigning in your mortal bodies and ruling your decisions. Stop making decisions in anger as they will on the long run be regrettable and wrong. Cultivate a culture system of a soft answer in the face of provocation because harsh words stirs up anger (Prov.15:1).

Immediately, Elisha had just received the double portion anointing of his spiritual father- Elijah as he pathed Jordan, while returning, all of a sudden some forty two children saw him and started making mockery of Elisha. They said bald headed man go away. Right away, Elisha was angry and cursed them and straight away a beast came out of the bush to devour all the children. Be that as it may sound that Elisha was a prophet and God honoured his words, but the truth is that what profit was it to Elisha for the untimely death he pronounced for those children? Could Jesus have done that in such a situation? Could that have been the best and only approach for such a circumstance for Elisha? See what Proverbs 14:29 GNB says:

“If you stay calm, you are wise, but if you have a hot temper, you only show how stupid you are.”

Anger is a destructive madness, so do nothing when angry because what you will destroy will far outweigh the cause of your anger. It is for this reason Proverbs 15:18 says a hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention. Be calm and be wise and watch anger become alien to you.

Reflection: Anger destroys relationships and keeps you far from your promised land.

Prayer Lines: Father, deliver me from the demon of anger manipulating and manifesting in my life.
