Commit to Memory: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help; my help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” (Psalms 121:1-2).

According to today’s commit to memory, David wrote from his perspective, dealings and experience he had seen on the workings of God in his life. Could you imagine when he was facing Goliath what would have been going through the mind of David, but on the long run that same God that aided him defeat the bear and the lion also helped him gain victory for Israel by the defeat of Goliath amazingly with a single stone and sling in his hand- That is marvellous help. I pray it will work for you today.

Friends, you need to understand that only God can help you, that is why you must do all you can to please and trust Him. Many years ago, I made up my mind to look to the Lord and take my attention from man and I tell you he has not forsook me ever since. It is for this reason David said concerning the Lord his Helper in Psalm 37:25 AMPC that:

“I have been young and now am old, yet have I not seen the [uncompromisingly] righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread.”

 Why? It is only the Almighty God that has the key to every man’s heart in his hands and can direct it however he wishes. So instead of seeking help from men, seek God’s help and  He will direct men to work in your favour.

Beloved are you weighed down and almost giving up? Have you concluded that there is no help for you in God? Listen, God will be your advocate and your strength. He will speak for you and help you. The Bible states in Judges 7:22, how God helped Gideon’s little army overcome an insurmountable problem and in the thereafter, Gideon rejoiced after the impossible was made possible. Why? The Lord helped him marvellously. I pray for a user of this inspiration that the Lord will marvellously help you such that you and yours will have cause to rejoice; in Jesus mighty name.

Reflection: When you see and make God your last resort, there will be readily available help in the season of your deepest need.
