The Desperate Cry- Part 2

Commit to Memory: “Give the Lord no rest until he completes his work, until he makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.” (Isaiah 62:7 ESV).

Beloved, there are many things that make God to attend to the desires of his children. For instance, the temporary madness of blind Bartemeus got him a breakthrough that lasted till he died. There are some breakthroughs you receive and it will last you throughout your life time- these breakthroughs are birthed when we become desperate in prayer. That morning blind Bartemeus didn’t have a clue that he will see again and for the rest of his life have his sight restored. He refused to take an alternative, he did not keep quiet. There were so many people surrounding Jesus that day, but scriptures records only of blind Bartemeus getting the attention of Jesus. He didn’t hold his peace. He kept on crying- “Jesus thou Son of David have mercy on me”. (Mark 10:46-52).

Friends, how desperate are you for a change? The Bible says Jabez cried unto the Lord God of Israel, it was indeed a desperate cry, little wonder the Lord heard him and granted his request. God is moved any time he finds a man who is desperately chasing after Him.

According to today’s commit to memory, the Lord is saying that if you desire rest for your soul, I mean if you want the Lord to perfect all that concerns you, then more than ever before you must be persistent in prayer. It is for this reason Jesus said of the benevolence and Almightiness of God towards us in Luke 18:7 AMPC. It says:

“And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf?

Do you desire series of new things dawning on your life? Then start to pursue God, seek Him like never before, go on a fast, get alone with God in prayer, run away from sin, love the brotherhood, give to the needy, fear God and serve Him with a pure conscience, worship God like never before and testify of His goodness and watch Him pour Himself into your needs. I pray today, may you receive divine intervention as you cry out to God.

Reflection: Desperate situations require desperate measures and to prevail, a desperate cry for mercy is pertinent.
