Commit to Memory: “Go into the village over there,” he said. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will immediately let you take them.” (Matthew‬ ‭21:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Today’s commit to memory relays the story of a donkey that was born great but tied down. Now donkeys are known for their strong will and stubbornness. When they don’t want to do something, you never can force them against their will, they just won’t do it. For example a donkey can go with you willingly to the river but if they don’t want to drink water, you can’t force them to do so. They are created that way- it’s their nature!!! But then, the Bible says when this particular donkey came in contact with Jesus, he went against his nature to do what the Lord created him to do. So Jesus told two of his disciples preferably Peter and John to go into a particular village to set at liberty that donkey whose destiny is to carry the King of Glory but yet walking in cycles without meaningful progress. What a tragedy it was! It was such a helpless, hopeless and pathetic situation for such a donkey that was tied down, monitored by satan and moving in cycles for years untold.
Have the enemy tied you to a spot such that there is no reward and result for your sincere efforts? When a man is placed on a circular chair, such a life will begin to go round; it will be circulating with no noticeable progress and the truth about circular motion is that it revolves around a fixed point and the radius is same at all angles. What this means is that there is no head way for such a life and no celebration of any kind. Why? The roundabout space will just keep the person going round and round about, such that the fellow is exerting energy, money and time. I mean he or she is really really working tirelessly hard but never going forward. Hmm. Does this define you? There is a remedy in Psalm‬ ‭34:19‬ ‭AMPC‬‬. It says:
“Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
As the Lord lives, for a user of this inspiration; any cycle of affliction tying you to a spot all these years, any arrow of affliction fired against your star to silence your destiny, any incantation of affliction assigned against you to keep you snail walking all lifelong and any meetings of darkness summoned against your forward and upward movement to limit and supervise your progress is hereby declared silenced forever in Jesus’ name.

Reflection: There is no meaningful progress when a man is tied down notwithstanding he is born great.
