Commit to Memory: “Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” (Luke 5:4, 6 KJV).
Often times in our lives because of the setbacks of the past, because of the proposals and contracts that didn’t pull through, because of the disappointments that brought frustrations, because of the rejections and delays that just pegged us to a spot, because of the past failures that keeps staring on us at the face. The truth is that one way or the other, this will cause the humanity in us most of the time wanting to give up. But no, the attitude shouldn’t be to quit but to launch out.
Friends, in the face of all these know that your attitude towards challenges determines whether that challenge will see your end or you will rise above it. So see and live with the mindset that; challenges create defining moments in our lives. They are gifts wrapped in thorns to bring out the best and gold in us to the actualization of your destiny. They bring us to the place of destiny. See the response of Peter in Luke 5:5
“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.”
So we see that there was an excuse Peter could dwell on that they had been there fishing all night with little or nothing to show for their labour. Remember by their occupation they were professional fishermen, so they been led by Peter knew the how, when, where, what and why of fishing for amazing results. But we see Peter was not dwelling and winning on the failures they had encountered prior to the intervention of Jesus. In the stead, he launched into the deep and the result for holding onto the words of Jesus and not giving up on previous attempts marked a net breaking, boat sinking multitude of fish. May God give you the grace to launch out in that trying situation today.
Reflection: Your attitude towards challenges is either a ladder to your rising or a load to your downfall. Launch out today.
