Commit to Memory: “Regard (treat with honor, due obedience, and courtesy) your father and mother that your days may be long in the land the Lord your God gives you.” (Exodus 20:12 AMPC)
It’s regrettable today that many disregard, insult, maltreat, disrespect, intimidate and treat with contempt their biological and spiritual parents. They don’t even feel bad about it such that its now a norm with them. Which door did you close through dishonour to your parents. Everybody respects and celebrates your parents except you, because to you he is your Father or mother and you can dishonour him any time you like and want. That ability to discern, to recognize, and to acknowledge what he represents and the system they depict is called Honour.
The Almighty God saw honour needful as one of the keys to longitivity on the earth. Little wonder Apostle Paul again reiterated this in Ephesians 6:2-3 when he said:
“Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”
Many will die untimely and become cursed who flout this rule, many will continue the way down and devoid of mercy and help if they are people of dishonour and many will remain stagnated till death meets them because of lack of honour. It is indeed a serious matter. Know today that any time you dishonour your biological or spiritual parents, you bring a curse upon yourself by default.
Beloved, there are people who have laboured and have results in diverse fields, should you find yourself in such companies; its wisdom to honour and celebrate such personalities- this is different from worshipping or idolizing such an individual. And sincerely if you develop such a culture, you will begin to experience unexplainable favours and your life will be constantly on the rise and full of influence. Hallelujah
Reflection: Whatever and whoever sponsors your interest, you must respect for the easiest way to prosper is through relationships.
