Commit to Memory: “Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honour to whom honour is due.” (Romans 13:7 AMPC)
Friends, the person you disdain today and don’t honour just because you think you are a superior and you are his or her boss such that you conclude you will never need anything from such a fellow in going up the ladder of success might be the person that will bring to pass your elevation and major breakthroughs in life. So look not to the now, look ahead and show honour to all you work with ahead or beneath you. 1 Peter 2:18 AMPC says:
“[You who are] household servants, be submissive to your masters with all [proper] respect, not only to those who are kind and considerate and reasonable, but also to those who are surly (overbearing, unjust, and crooked).”
Start with your family: Honour your spouse- stop honouring the spouse of others when you always dishonour your spouse. You are a weak man if you dishonour or disrespect your wife. Honour your wife, honour your husband, sing his or her praise like Sarah calling Abraham “Lord” (that was a demonstration of honour from a spouse), make honour evident to your spouse such that you honour him or her and his or her opinion count always. It is for this purpose; Jesus stooped low to begin to wash the feet of his disciples (his bride which you and I have become). He was teaching us many things. One of which is that you don’t arrogate honour on and to yourself; if you praise yourself- it’s called arrogance but if others confers praise on you- it’s called honour. Stop kneeling down for that pastor when you cannot knee down for your husband. Why? You will never grow up and go beyond if you are full of dishonour. Dishonour to God, men, women, children and principles. This is because honour is the ladder that success thrives. Repent and be a person of honour today.
Reflection: What you speak against always cannot connect you to the peak of your life. Whatever and whoever you hate cannot come to your aid.
Prayer Lines
•Father, anything in me that dishonours you; deal with it.
•Father, every seed of dishonour manifesting in my life: consume by fire.
