Commit to Memory: “And that knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” (Romans 13:11)

Beloved, if you are the kind of Believer who sleeps so deeply and carelessly that you cannot wake up at the first tap just the same way that Samson’s hair was shaved why asleep yet he knew not nor felt the movement of a razor as his hair was cut to the skin. Then you need as a matter of urgency deliverance, because what this means is that you are going deep down to the level that anything bad and evil could happen to your spirit man. If your spirit man can sleep that far, then there really is a problem that calls for immediate spiritual attention. It is for this reason Isaiah.35:3 says:

“Strengthen the weak hands and confirm the feeble knees.”

When you were burning for the Lord, your life was sweet, blessed and full of the wonders of God, but while men slept you began all of a sudden to find yourself keeping malice, telling lies, cheating and perverting judgement- these are signs of a spiritual man sleeping the Sleep of slothfulness.

The Bible says while the bridegroom tarried, the virgins slept, there was a call and thus, they didn’t have the time to go and buy extra oil and because of that the foolish virgins were in trouble. For this reason, you must be watchful, you need to be at alert, you sure need to pray and listen to what God will say, seek His strength in your weakness and cry for His power.

When was the last time you fasted and had a personal retreat to seek the face of God concerning his leadings and promptings in your life? You had a covenant with God to engage in midnight prayers and weekly fastings and now it’s been three months and you have not observed it but full of religious activities. This is a sign of spiritual slothfulness. Wake up to fastings, wake up to personal retreats, wake up to absolute surrenderdness and obedience and watch your life shine and glow on all fronts.

Friends, have you left the secret place for the secret cult? God is calling you today to be awake to spiritual things and the constant move and flow of the Spirit.

Reflection: As long as you are awake to spiritual things, nothing can take you off guard…
