Commit to Memory: “Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son who was a cripple in his feet. He was five years old when the news came out of Jezreel [of the deaths] of Saul and Jonathan. And the boy’s nurse took him up and fled; and in her haste, he fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth.” (2 Samuel 4:4 AMPC).
Childhood problems are problems the enemy sowed in the life and destiny of people in their infancy and childhood. It can really be terrible and alter the life and destiny of such individuals if not given the requisite attention especially in the place of prayer.
They stem from hereditary, household wickedness, village idols, polygamous witchcraft, ancestral curses, evil covenants and satanic dedications. Of all the problems that plague man, the most evasive and inimical is childhood problems and the peril of this is that there are some afflictions from childhood that are initiated at your unconscious hour.
An epitome of childhood problems is seen in today’s commit to memory. Mephibosheth had a childhood problem which was lameness. This peril that has nothing to do with his fault or doing evolved at infancy in his life when he was just five years old through an as accident he never bargained for. This setback of been a cripple caused him royalty, dependency mentality and sent him to Lodebar as an outcast.
There are certain types of spirits and diseases that try to evade the body of Children in childhood. They are carefully projected to destroy the lives of such glorious destinies. These demons having been projected at infancy will allow you go to school, they even allow you get a degree, marry, but no children or job. Imagine Pharaoh appointed Egyptian midwives to cast new born into the river because he wanted them dead. Herod gave a decree to kill all male children two years down. Why? Because He learnt Jesus the Deliverer was born. As the Lord lives, who remembered Mephibosheth such that his childhood problems were dealt with as David took him to the palace, may heaven launch your rising again today.
Reflection: We are all products of our upbringing and the family environment we were surrounded by and this has moulded us into the people we are today.
