Commit to Memory: “Thus says the Lord, let not the wise man glory in his wisdom neither let the mighty man glory in his might; let not delay rich man glory in his riches but let him that glorieth, glory in this, that he understands and knows me” (Jer. 9:23-24).
Friends, if there’s something we must boast about in the Lord, it should be that we know the Lord. Imagine how important serving tables is, that is making sure that the needy among the people were given attention and properly cared for but then the Apostles in Acts understood that if they were going to do what God had asked them to do, and if they were to make a head way in the ministry of reconciling men back to God, then more than anything else, they must concentrate on the ministry of the word.
Friends, are you wondering why you still see yourself entangled with one sin and another? It is because the word of God is lacking expression in your life. This is because the Word of God is a cleanser. Sin is reigning in your members and life because the word of God is yet to find expression in and through your life. In John 17:17 Jesus speaking to his disciples asked that the Lord would cleanse them through His word: He said
“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth”.
What Jesus was saying was that the Almighty God should make them holy by His truth; How? Teach them his word, which is truth. So that like David according to Psalm 119:98 they can become wiser than their enemies when the word of God becomes flesh in their lives. Hallelujah. The New Living Translation puts it this way:
“Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide”.
Do you desire to be wise or wiser? Do you want to exhibit precision in your decisions, choices and judgements? Then make the word of God your Guide. Little wonder David said in Prov.4:22 that the word of God when applied is life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. No wonder the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 CEV
“Everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. The Scriptures train God’s servants to do all kinds of good deeds.”
For a user of this inspiration, I pray that the grace for the word of God to find ultimate expression in your life be released upon thee now and always. Amen
