Dealing with your Critics

Commit to Memory: “Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, came forth of the midst of the fire. And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.” (Daniel 3:26-27 KJV)

In life, when you rise to the top, you become the topic; know that you will become the topic for discussion. This discussion most of the time is targeted by the enemy to pull you down as we see reflected in the lives of the three Hebrew men. What happened? The king made a golden image; issued a decree that everyone in the land must bow and worship it and that anyone who fails to do this would be thrown into a fiery furnace.

The Bible says these three Hebrew boys told the king in Daniel 3:16-17 that: if at all the Lord failed to deliver them from the fire- that they still would not bow to the golden image. Hmmm. What was it that fueled their passion to stand for Jesus at such critical moments? They knew something different, they had a revelation that strengthened their faith in God according to Isaiah 43:2 that:

“…When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.”

It’s amazing the Bible says we walk through and not stay in the fire. This means that it’s a phase the devil, situations, even God and your critics will cause you to pass through but our joy is that it shall not burn us neither shall it’s flame consume us. Glory to God.

So we see that the three Hebrew men were smart enough with spiritual intelligence to know that it is only by the greatness of God’s power that will make their enemies (critics) submit their powers and be silenced forever.

The Bible says concerning these three Hebrew men who were thrown into the fiery furnace that the fire had no power to destroy them, but upon their bodies- the fire lost it’s power. Hallelujah. The enemy too has power, but what the Lord is saying to you today is that as far as you are on His side, as far as you touch not the unclean thing and as far as you are standing for and by the Truth which is in Jesus, the enemy can never outsmart you. You will always overcome your critics no matter their numbers. So to deal with your critics, draw power from the place of prayer and be on fire for the Lord. For a user of this inspiration, in the order of the three Hebrew men, may you silence your critics by the reason of God’s power and ability  at work in your life.

Reflection: You will prevail over your enemies and critics if you first prevail in prayers. Stay on fire.

Prayer Lines

•Father, every destructive judgement of my critics backfire and turn it to my advantage.

•Father, now and for the rest of my life make me too defended to be a victim in the hands of my critics.

•Father, let the fire of the enemy lose its power over my body, life and ministry.

•Father, do something strange and new in my life that will make the enemy know that You are for me.
