Kingdom Giving- Part 2

Commit to Memory: “Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift].” (2 Corinthians 9:7 AMP)

The Almighty God is a God who weighs our motives and actions and as such knows the reason or purpose behind our giving is known to Him. In the New Covenant, we see in Acts that the people formed a community of love such that they gave all that they had and brought the proceeds to the Apostles’ feet. Infact Acts 2:44-47 NLT says:

“And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity– all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.”

So we see here that the early Christians did three things that expanded the Kingdom and caused souls to enter therein on a daily basis. Firstly they shared everything they had. Secondly they sold their property and possession and shared the money with those in need. They shared their meals with great joy and generosity. They were always sharing. This was love at its peak, they were not compelled to do it, love became the motive behind their giving. Love lifted them. What a mindset, today’s world is yet to have.

Another kingdom giving the Lord desires of you if you are a child of God is PRAISES. He said in Psalm 50:23 that whosoever offers praise glorifies Him and I tell you when you make up your mind to give God praise- His food that looks good on Him- I mean if you make it your one desire to give Him quality praise, He will raise you up from lack to plenty, little to greatness, dungeon to palace and from one who has suffered delay and rejection to one swimming in favour, grace and mercy. May this be your lot today in Jesus name.

Reflection: What you eat does not increase, only what you sow brings increase.
