Commit to Memory: “And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him…” (Luke 18:38-40 KJV)
In life, every humbling result devoid of struggles and hard labour requires the mercy of God to be effortless. A cry for mercy is one key to access God after having done all and failed or advanced but a little.
Beloved, when you cry for mercy, what you are actually saying to God just like blind Bartimaeus is that:
“Lord I can’t go further, I am desperate for a change, I am tired and confused, O Lord prove yourself and interest in my life, Jesus do something new and now in my life or your name will be dragged in the mud and reproached, my Father what’s the way out? Please as you did at the red sea in the days of old, make a way suddenly, O Lord can my dry bones live again? My Father my Lord, put an end to the evil pattern of my bloodline, Jesus change the pattern of my achievement not to be like others. Friends if you do these, the mercy of God will be your experience and your case will end in praise.” Halleluyah .
It is with this understanding, David approached God for forgiveness. Why? He knew God to be merciful (Psalm 51:1, 56:1). A cry for mercy is a desperate cry. When engaged wholeheartedly in the order of Jabez, it advances your course, delivers from oppression, challenges those who delight to fight or war against you (Psalm 57:1-3), causes God to show you the face of His compassion, offers you security and refuge against attacks, robbery, assassination and accidents.
Friends, what is that area of your life that is lacking results? If you can cry to the One who is pitiful and plenteous in mercy- you will begin to experience deliverance from sudden death, saved from reproaches and His mercy will birth performances into your life and keep you alive until calamities are over.
Reflection: To see the mercy of God, a prayer of desperation and a heart of compassion for others must be preceded notwithstanding your cry.
Prayer Lines
•Jesus Thou Son of David, single me out for a miracle.
•Father, by your mercy, terminate sweat and struggles in my life.
