Commit to memory: “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” (Ephesians 5:14).
By reawakening, in today’s commit to memory; God is saying wake up from spiritual sleep and slumber. One way to do this is to begin to engage the night time to settle your destiny in mid night prayers and meditation- this is because the midnight time is the womb of the morning. Little wonder the Bible says repeatedly in Genesis 1 that “there was evening before morning.” (Gen.1:5,8,13,19,23). The night time is the interval where revelations and knowledge about the issues of our lives and issues surrounding our lives are showed (Psalm 19:2) that is why Joseph and Daniel got revelations and the solution over the dreams of Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar respectively by NIGHT. Isn’t that interesting!
Friends, you will not be useful to God and become what God wants you to be if you sleep all through the night time. The Bible says in Luke 6:12 that Jesus will go to the mountain to pray all NIGHT, no wonder he was empowered without measure to rule the day then and even now. But then why pray? James 5:16 AMP tells us:
“…The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God- it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].”
Are you allowing lust, pride, lies, covetousness etc to make you go sleep? Which way have you granted access to the spirit of spiritual slumber to capture your spiritual life such that your coldness and lukewarmness is not strange and known to you? Are you awake today and asleep tomorrow? Things will go wrong and continue to toe that path until you wake up from spiritual sleep and slumber. You cannot be God’s battle axe to bring down His Kingdom, presence, power and silence darkness of all kinds if you cannot wake up to pray.
Reflection: One of the tragic emergencies that needs divine attention is enslavement to sleep and slumber as man suffers loss, defeat and failure almost for a life time if not addressed.
Prayer Lines: Father, revive me once again by your spirit. Reawaken my spiritual life by your fire
