When God turns Your Captivity

Commit to memory: “Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”  Isaiah 55:3 KJV

For believers, heaven’s remembrance is one of the key ways God visits His very own. When this happens, a new beginning of new things untold becomes the order of day. The Bible is replete of several individuals who God remembered for favour and liftings.

We would look at certain individuals who experienced certain dimensions of God’s remembrance as the Almighty God turned again their captivity: For example when God remembered Abraham, it was for BLESSING. God did not end there, he commanded all men that came his way to bless him (Gen.12:2-4, 14:19). What this means is that every curse working against your foundation and family line is turned to a blessing. Why? Because you are now the Blessed of the Lord- No more curse can reign in your life again because the blessing of remembrance has swallowed it up. What then is captivity? It is the condition of being imprisoned, confined, enslaved, trapped or caged by the enemy. It means to be bottled in a dungeon beyond the reach of help from all sides. Little wonder, 1 Sam.2:8 NLT says

“He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the LORD’s, and he has set the world in order.”

So God is faithful to remember you for His everlasting covenant. What covenant? It is the covenant of grace, mercy and peace which He made with Abraham, and his seed, David and Christ. It was full of glorious and sure blessings which God hath promised to his people, the chief of which was giving Christ to die for our sins. May this mercy speak for you today and always.

Reflection: The All seeing eyes of the Creator is on the sparrow, so He watches over you; but to be lifted you must seek peace with God.
