Commit to Memory: “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” 1 John 4:8
In the words of Daphne Rose Kingma: “In the end nothing we do or say in this lifetime will matter as much as the way we have loved one another.” So our assignment is to love others, even the unloveable in their weakness. The way you conduct yourself and affairs at home with your spouse and children should express and exemplify the love of Christ. So go all out today and let your life spell love, go out of your way and let your attitude define the love of Christ. For a user of this inspiration, may the love of Christ capture your heart now and always.
Beloved, in the days of His flesh, Jesus gave us a new commandment. See what John 13:34 says:
“A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
Until we love one another, our joy cannot be full. God desires that every child of His express the love of Christ first to God (Matt.22:37-38), your neighbour (Matt.22:39-40), strangers (Heb.13:2), your spouse (Eph.5:25), children (Titus 2:4), Enemies (Matt.5:44) etc. So the question now is how then does God wants us to show love? We are to love wholeheartedly. How? With all your heart, soul and might (Deut.6:5, Matt.22:37), love your neighbour as yourself, as Christ loved the church, in giving, as God loves us and sacrificially.
Friends, if you are a child of God indeed, the Lord instructs that you are to love as God loves because love is of God and God is love; for he that loveth not knoweth not God for God is love (1 John 4:8-9). Jesus in this light said everybody will know that you are a faithful follower of Him when you make up your mind to love one another (John 13:35). May the Love of Christ blot out every hatred and bitterness in your life.
Reflection: Is the love of Christ lacking in your life?
Prayer Lines: Father, take me deeper in the love of Jesus and make me daily grow in love with you.
