Commit to memory: “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 KJV
In football, players are scheduled for match fixtures based on their fitness excellence. No matter how exceptional a player may be, for the purpose of safety and improved team organisation and effectiveness, he or she must pass the fitness test to be enlisted for playing match fixtures thus they are mainly not featured on match fixtures or occasionally played on the reserve (bench) when they are not fit due to injuries or illness. In same similitude in the kingdom, no matter your years or experience in the faith, no matter your exploits in kingdom service, no matter the anointing of God calling for attention in your life, in heaven, hell and on earth; if it is not costing you something to follow Jesus, then you are not fit for the kingdom.
Beloved, are you determined to live for God but surrounded with negative influences and weighed down by those who once inspired you in the faith? You must understand and refuse to be disappointed by men because of the frailty and humanity of men. Make up your mind to be focused, unwavering and committed to the race of the cross to gain the crown; you want to be fit for heaven at last? Then you must be determined to let go of every negative influence of any kind to embrace and live for God, you need to be more enlightened in the ways and acts of God. You need to confess, repent and forsake your sins and surrender your life to Jesus Christ. See what 2 Timothy 3:12 says:
”Yea and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
Friends, what is your goal? How ready and serious are you for this upcoming event? Is your desire to see and meet Jesus when the row is called up yonder? if its your prayer to be there?!then the word of God relays expressly we must all be ready to endure persecution so that we can come out strong and fit to meet the Lord. I pray as the Lord lives may He supply the grace to remain standing and faithful till the end in Jesus name.
Reflection: Nobody goes forward looking backwards, stay the course for the crown.
Prayer Lines: Father, purify and prune me from every filthiness of the flesh that I may be fit for your kingdom.
