A New Thing-part 4

Commit to Memory:  “When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.” Acts 3:9-10 NIV

One demonstration of the reality of the Kingdom will birth the long desired change in your life. Are you in desperate need of a new thing to be done by God? Are you nursing a debilitating medical condition? Do people look at you and shake their head in sympathy? Have you been an object of pity and mockery? In today’s commit to memory, the lame man was not just crippled all of a sudden but was born so from his mother’s womb, he had no knowledge why he had to settle for this predicament, it was beyond what he could explain. Is your life a reflection of this storyline?  In the name that’s above every other name, the God who is beautiful in every situation will make your life so beautiful within and without. He turned the reproach of Naaman despite been great and rich by doing a new thing of brand new flesh and wholeness (2 kings 5:1,3,14). May he do it also for you.

Beloved, stop saying I am confused and don’t know what to do- this is not your language of identity, do you desire a new thing? Then stop looking to man for help and all your life’s hope and aspirations, the truth is that no one can help you until compelled by God- The Bible says the lame man looked at Peter and John expecting alms , but Peter and John said to him …LOOK ON US… in other words- look on the Greater one that lives in us that’s able to give you what you need as against the alms and crumbs you myopically want daily. And immediately this lame man looked on Jesus in Peter and John, strength for weakness was restored to his feet and ankle and so he leaped for joy (Acts 3: 3-8).

Another keynote to learn from this story is that you must stand and face your challenges squarely. Immediately Peter stretched forth his helping hand, the lame man reached out to his hand trying to stand and all of a sudden stood. To stand here means to quit your fears, launch into the deep, arise and address that issue with the word. Also, one unique truth in this story line is that prior to the healing of the lame man’s alms begging culture always ended at the temple gate- he never had a cause and access to enter the temple, but after the creation of the new thing of healing and wholeness the Lord did he started walking and praising God- he became a wonder and an amazement to that city. May this mark your lot today in Jesus name.

Reflection: For your location and timing to be right for a new thing, tell it to God in prayer.

Prayer Lines: Father, whatever area of my life I have been left at the gate, grant me access.
